My year end trip in Tokyo signals the start of something new for my work in eCommerce
I recently concluded a two week vacation in Japan. How was it? It was epic. Atleast in my own terms.
Graduation Season:
- This trip was meaningful to me because it signals the start of something new. All these years of working in ecommerce from a beginner VA to being an eCom Manager has changed me! And my results are proof that starting over can actually lead you to bigger and better things. Bye bye bye (‘coz, *Nsync) corporate past! 🤪And now, with 5 years in to the business, there are multiple things I’m graduating from.
- I gave myself quite an extensive graduation ceremony but I think it’s a well deserved one. I leisurely walked the streets of Shinjuku, felt the rush in Shibuya, was awed by Mt Fuji and enjoyed shopping at Ueno. I would have stayed longer and I’ll plan to do that next time - just as long as I wont be beaten by the cold! 🥶 So, here’s the projection for the next trip: “Cherry Blossom season”.
New Services to offer:
2025 is right around the corner so the last 31 days of 2024 seems to be a good time to announce new services I’m adding under the Randiss & Co. umbrella. These new services are: Tiktok Shops Management and Recruitment for eCommerce. I’ll talk more in detail about these services in the next few posts - but here are the headlines and why:
- Tiktok shops - Creator / Influencer marketing is here to say and it’s high time your business should catch the Tiktok wave!
Recruitment - I never really thought of myself as a recruiter but with how things are doing with FA, I believe I have the skill for it and I would be glad to match eCommerce professionals to the right position.
Community Building:
All these time, I’ve focused on myself and my own work. I was horrible at keeping track of my status at social media but I figure there is a community out there that wants to shift to remote work and focus on eCommerce as their specialty. And so, I aim to fill the gap of reliable leaders who can help this community. Tbh, I stepped into this during my earlier years but I eventually gave it up thinking I was not seasoned enough to handle it. But the times are different now - I’m better equipped to handle this!
What am I graduating from:
So, here’s the thing. I’ll still be working in ecommerce and doing the usual shop management and strategies but there are things I’m graduating from. To name a few, I’m stepping away and graduating from the following:
- Broken processes from onboarding to offboarding
- Not clarifying work expectations with my clients (and with my team)
- Micro management from clients (and from myself)
- Clients who demand exclusivity.
- Bundling multiple services for the price of one.
These are mistakes I’ve entertained in the past but now that I’m more experienced, seasoned, and can call myself an expert - it’s time show everyone that I’m stepping up to a new level.
